“I was getting you information.” I was avoiding his eyes.
“What you got?” he said, as he pushed me aside and closed the door.
“I told him the story that we made up. He didn’t say anything else. When I thought that he was going to leave he turned and started undoing his pants. ”
“I guess I’m finally going to be able to have a taste of you. Prez will never know because you are already damaged goods. If you tell Satan, I’ll kill you,” he laughed.
I was terrified but when he started walking towards me we heard a commotion. He zipped his pants and walked to the door, but not before he grabbed me by the throat and snarled in my face.
“Don’t you dare move. I’ll be back to take care of that pussy.” Then he let go of me and left.
I didn’t think twice. I grabbed a book bag from one of my drawers and fit as much as I could in it. After checking to see if the hallway was empty, I went directly to Muerte’s office in the back of the building. I knew where they kept the money overnight so I took it and ran.
I made it to the bus stop and purchased a ticket to Portland. I knew they were going to be looking for me as soon as they realized I was gone. I decided I was going to Leavenworth but I just had to take a longer route to get there.
I just hoped when Damon said to look for him if I needed help, he really meant it.
Because I was going to need a lot of that.
Damon
As soon as we walked through the door of the clubhouse, my dad stood from the table and yelled, “Church, now!”
Last night after leaving the club we jumped on our bikes and drove ten hours straight back home. During the whole ride home the only thing I could think about was Lyra, so when we finally made it, I was in a pissed off mood.
I entered the room and realized everybody was already there. Leigh, James, and Alex were sitting to my dad’s right. I sat to his left. The rest of the brothers were scattered throughout the room. I was exhausted and in need of a hot shower and a cold beer. I looked at my father and waited to see what was so damn important that couldn’t wait until later. Being in that club for three days and not being able to kill them all left a sour taste in my mouth. I was sure the abducted women were the same ones that Lyra had seen in the club before. Los Diablos were in on this shit and on top of that they’re also trying to get a pipeline to Canada through Washington to move their drugs. In other cases, we would be negotiating with them for a cut, but this club was dealing with human trafficking and for us, that was a no go.
He cleared his throat, getting all of our attention, then said, “I just talked to Bear. He said another girl went missing. They are sure these shitheads have something to do with it. Damon, tell us what you found out.”
I looked at my brothers and said, “Basically, nothing. For three days I tried but they have everything wrapped very tightly. Finally last night a girl that works for them told me about some girls she had seen a couple of days before they disappeared again. They have them drugged.”
“How do you know she was telling you the truth?” Ghost asked from his chair at the end of the table. He was one of my closest friends. We were prospects together and got patched in at the same time too. He was a big guy, with a blond Mohawk. He doesn’t know when to shut up.
“If you would have seen the bruises on her face you would have believed her too.” I really hoped he didn’t try to start an argument with me because I wasn’t in the mood.
I think he read me well because he didn’t say anything else.
“So, did they recognize you?” my dad asked.
“Don’t know. We left everything that could have identified us hidden in the motel."
“Okay. VP, we’ll figure it out soon enough. I’m calling Bear to let him know what we found out. They're closer to them, so they can keep an eye out. For now, keep your eyes open when you go into town. Church is over,” he said as he slammed the gavel down. Everybody stood and left the room.
When I was about to walk out, my dad called out to me, “Hey, boy, I may be your Prez, but I’m also your father. What’s going on with you?”
“I’m just tired Pops,” I told him.
“Come on, Damon. I know you better than that. What’s on your mind?”
“All of this is fucked up. They send this girl to get fucking information. A fucking virgin. I ended up fucking her. You know that I don’t do virgins, but it was the only way to save her from being beat up. I just want to hunt those animals down and put them in the fucking ground.” I didn’t even wait for him to say anything else. I just wanted to crash.
I stopped at the bar, grabbed a bottle of Jack and headed to my room to take a shower. When I was almost at my door, Gina came down the hall and stopped in front of me, went to her knees and started unbuttoning my jeans.
“Piss off, Gina, I’m tired and not in the fucking mood.”
She looked at me with one of her fucking pouts. I knew then that I had to put an end to this. She was getting too demanding and clingy. I’d been fucking her more than the others for the last few months. I didn’t know how she came to the wrong conclusion because come on … do these girls really think that we’re going to make one of them an old lady after they’ve had more cocks in their pussies than there are wieners in a county fair BBQ on the Fourth of July?
Ignoring her, I entered my room and went directly to the bathroom. I really needed a shower. I put the water as hot as I could get and jumped in. The heat helped ease my aching muscles. I was finally beginning to relax when my mind started going back over the last forty-eight hours. Lyra came immediately to my mind. Her smell. The way she tasted. The way her tight, hot pussy had squeezed my cock. I could still smell her pussy on me.
With the hot water streaming down my chest, I realized I was hard as a rock. I held on to the wall of the shower with one hand and grabbed my monster of a dick with the other. I started moving my fist up and down like I was trying to dismember myself, thinking about that sweet pussy until I exploded in my hand. God, I needed to get my head in place. Feeling completely spent, I went to bed and slept like a baby, dreaming of those green eyes that would haunt me forever. I woke up the next day starving, but when I hit the kitchen, there was nobody around.
I jumped on my bike and drove to Jordan’s Diner. Jordan, the owner of the place, was like family. Her husband had been one of our brothers. He died while he was on a run that had gone south a couple of years ago. As soon as I went inside, I took a seat and scouted the place. When I spotted Ani talking to a customer, I couldn’t hide my smile. She was a force to be reckoned with. Ani was Jordan’s only daughter and she was also my sister Kat's best friend. Kat and Ani were always causing some kind of mayhem, even though they were as different as they come. Kat was tall and skinny and a very private person. Her hair was black like mine, but she got our mother’s gray eyes. Ani, on the other hand, was short, around five feet tall, and had a rocking body. Her hair was red and she had beautiful green eyes. Freckles scattered around the bridge of her nose. She was a total social butterfly. They were as thick as thieves.
When Ani made it to my table, she gave me one of her bright smiles and said, “Hey, handsome, what can I get you today?”
“Hey, babe. I’ll have the usual.”
“You know what, Damon? For being a big badass, you’re very predictable.”
I raised my eyebrow and looked at her. She started giggling and said, “Yeah, I know. Don’t run your mouth at me little girl and keep walking, Ani, or I’ll put you over my knee.” The little shit tried to sound like me.
“You know one of these days, I’m going to do it. That smart mouth of yours is only going to get you in trouble,” I told her with a wink.
She smiled at me and said, “You know, one of these days you might just realize that I might like it.”
I started laughing my ass off. This was a game we played a lot and she was getting good at keeping up. We were neighbors growing up and she was like another sister to me. Our moms grew
up together. I guess that happens a lot in a small town like ours. After Jimmy died, my dad kept Ani and Jordan safe. They were family.
Jordan came to the table with a cup of coffee for me. “Let me know when you’re finished. I’ve got something to talk to you about.”
“You got it, doll.”
As I finished my breakfast, I tried to solve the big puzzle in my head about everything that had been going on. Jordan saw me sitting there and asked me to follow her to her office.
I got up and followed her towards the back. When she closed the door behind us, I asked, “Jo, what can I do for you?”
“Have you guys found out anything about the four missing girls?”
“Not yet. Why?”
“As soon as you find them, please bring them to me. I can hide them until they can return home. My house is big enough for that.”
“Are you sure?”
“Damon, you know my story. Let me help somebody the same way your grandmother helped me so long ago.”
Jordan was a beautiful woman. She was almost fifty, like my mom. Her hair was dark and her eyes were hazel. Her smile was sincere and beautiful. When she was a baby, her mother abandoned her at the front door of my grandma’s house. When they found her, they instantly fell in love with her. Trying their best to keep her safe, they gave her to my grandma’s best friend. She couldn’t have kids, but desperately wanted a child of her own. Jordan grew up with two sets of parents, more uncles that she can count, and my mom as her partner in crime.
“Okay, Jo. I’ll let you know,” I told her as I kissed her cheek. I paid my bill and headed out to my bike. We needed to locate these women fast before they ended up dead or shipped to another country. As I started the engine, I promised myself as soon as we sorted out all of the shit with the club, I was going back for Lyra. I couldn’t leave her there with those fuckers.
What the fuck was happening to me?
Lyra
When I got off the bus, I looked down the street, trying to find a place to stay. I just needed to sleep for a little bit. There was nothing around. I started walking and thirty minutes later, I found a diner and went in. As soon as I opened the door, I fell in love with the place. The floor was black and white checkered, with red and white table cloths covering the tables. There was even a jukebox in a corner. When I looked to the right, I saw this beautiful girl heading my way with a big smile. She was around my age with long, natural red hair and beautiful green eyes. Without saying a word, she put her arm around me and took me over to a table. Then, she started talking to me like we were long lost friends. And oh boy, the girl could talk. After a minute or so, another woman came out of the kitchen.
She walked directly to me, taking my face in her hands as she looked into my eyes and said, “Darling, is there something I can do for you? Who did this to you?”
I flinched because I hated pity. With a smile, I said, “Don’t worry, they’ll never find me or hurt me again. I just need a job. And could you tell me if you know where I could find a place to stay for a while?”
“Maybe you can work here. How old are you?” she asked with kindness in her voice.
“Eighteen … well, I will be in three days,” I told her hesitantly. I wasn’t sure how she would feel about hiring someone as young as me.
“Do you know how to cook?”
“Been doing it since I was thirteen.”
“Okay, it’s settled then. You can stay in the apartment on top of my garage.”
“Really, just like that? How much is going to cost me? I don’t have enough for an apartment.”
“How about fifty a month and I’ll pay you nine dollars an hour.”
“Why?” I couldn’t understand why this complete stranger was being so sweet to me.
“Because I can tell when somebody needs a hand.”
“Okay. When do I start?” I couldn’t believe that it was so easy. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop because I didn’t remember when the last time anything easy had come my way.
“Do you want to tell me your story?” she asked with concern.
“No,” I whispered, hoping that she wouldn’t push.
“Okay, darling, and you can start tomorrow?”
“I can start today if you need me to.” I couldn’t believe I was finally here after a week of sleeping on benches in different towns and eating junk food to save money.
“The only place that you’re going right now is to bed.” She turned to the girl and said, “Ani, take … I don’t know your name?”
“Lyra Edwards”
“Ani, take some food from the kitchen and go home with Lyra.”
I looked at this lady and without thinking, I wrapped my arms around her neck and hugged her. I couldn’t stop the smile that slowly spread across my face. Life was going to be good. I could feel it.
“I hate to ask but I need a favor.” I really hope what they said about small towns was true and she could direct me to the Reapers Creed club.
“Before we go to the house, I need to make a quick stop.” I was really hoping that they could help me with this. I didn’t think I needed protection because I was completely sure that nobody followed me to this town, but I needed to at least thank Damon and let him know I was okay.
“What do you need?” Ani asked, coming out from the kitchen with a bag that smelled delicious and a book bag.
“I need to find a way to get to the Reapers Creed clubhouse.” I held my breath.
“That was my dad’s club. Do you know somebody there?” Ani asked.
“I met Damon about a week ago. He helped me. I just want to thank him.” I mentally crossed my fingers. If they didn’t want to help, it was okay. They have done more than enough already.
“I’ll take you. Let’s go.” Ani turned and walked out the door. I had a feeling that she was happy it was Damon and not someone else. Was her boyfriend a member of that club?
When we arrived at the clubhouse there were like a dozen bikes parked in a perfect line. Ani opened her door and two seconds later there was a mountain of a man lifting her up. She kissed him on the cheek and asked him to put her down.
“What are you doing here, sweetheart?” he asked, but instead of looking at her, he was looking at me.
“Here to see Damon. Is he in?” she asked while walking towards the door.
“Yup, he’s with Leigh and James.” You could hear the humor in his voice.
Ani flinched but recovered immediately. Grabbing my arm, she pulled me inside.
It took me a moment to adjust my eyes and then I saw him. The gorgeous man of my dreams was sitting at a table with four more people. My heart skipped a beat when I saw him, but I quickly realized what was wrong with this picture. He had this fake Barbie, or let’s say trashy Barbie, lingering from his arm. She was laughing at something he’d said and was rubbing her fake tits on him. That wasn’t the worst part, the worst part was he looked through me like he didn’t have a fucking clue who I was.
Ani pulled me with her and when we got close, it was like a lightbulb switched on in his brain. He recognized me. His face changed from surprised, to happy, to suspicious, to mad, in two point five seconds flat.
“How the fuck did you get here?” Damon asked while clenching his fists.
“By bus.”
“What? Did they send you? Are you working for them?" He stood up and came to me, getting in my personal space.
“First of all, I came on the bus and no I’m not working with them. Second, I just came to say thank you but I think I shouldn’t have.” With that being said, I turned and walked out of the room.
How could I be so stupid and think he was going to be happy seeing me?
I jumped in the car and when I was about to close the door he came out, followed by trashy Barbie.
I rushed to close the door when I heard her yell, “You better leave, you whore!”
What the fuck? That was the pot calling the kettle black. I ignored her and locked the door.
Ani c
ame and jumped in the driver’s seat murmuring something I couldn’t catch. Suddenly, Damon started walking towards us but in that moment Ani floored the car and we left the parking lot with a curtain of dust behind us.
“I won’t ask if you don’t.” I was looking straight ahead.
“Okay, let’s go home.”
Home … it’s been a long time since I had called a place home.
Damon
What the fuck just happened? I was sitting having a beer with the boys and shooting the shit and then—she was here. The beautiful creature that consumed my thoughts for the past week was standing inside my club.
Everything Ghost said that night in church came back and I saw red. She must have been working for Los Diablos all along.
I reacted badly when I saw her standing there and accused her in front of everybody. She looked like I had slapped her across the face but she recovered quickly. She held her head high and answered me back. Then turned and left. I went outside looking for an explanation. Gina started yelling and Lyra locked herself in the car. I tried to get to the car but it was too late. Ani left the parking lot like a bat out of hell.
“Who’s that whore and what did she want with you?” Gina asked, trying to grab my arm.
“Get out of my sight. It’s none of your business who she is. You are not my woman, you’re just another club whore. Don’t ever forget that,” I said, turning away as I went to call Jordan. I wanted to know why the fuck Ani was with Lyra.
After I spoke to Jordan, my blood was boiling. Mother fucker. She came to me looking for the protection I offered her and I fucked up. I needed to calm down before I tried to get close to her again, but I needed answers.
Ghost was sitting at the bar and he looked like he wanted to say something. I held my hand up to stop him.
“Not now, brother.”
“Why was she here?" He didn’t look too happy.
“The fuck I know?” I didn’t like his accusation. “But it’s not your problem. I’ll deal with it!" I didn’t wait for him to answer.
